Letter to Coach Aizan

Coach Aizan,

I am writing to you today because today, you will be representing not only yourself, but the Tekad Family at the most distinguished award ceremony for community service, The NSTP-PwC Young Humanitarian Award.

One of the main reasons for the Tekad Family to nominate you for the award is for us to show our thanks and appreciation for the work and dedication that you have put in for Projek Tekad. You have given us the opportunity to serve and contribute to the community and the nation. All of us have found our niche in community service. All of us chose to be in Projek Tekad and we are here to stay.

The name Aizan, I have heard since 1996, while I was in the UK. Apparently, she is one dedicated person who helped build a project for Malaysian students in the UK to contribute their effort and time towards community service while on summer holidays. While attending that project, the name Aizan poped-up many times. But who is this Aizan?

I got the chance to meet this Aizan at Devi’s Corner in Hartamas together with a few friends. If I remember correctly, it was in 2001. We were discussing a possibility of having a reunion of the project for Malaysian Students in the UK.

In December 2003, I had the opportunity to meet Aizan again. This time, it was Projek Tekad. We were preparing for Projek Tekad KL which was conducted in January 2004. Since then, I had the opportunity to work with Aizan in many other Projek Tekad and some other community service programs. It was indeed an honour to get to work with you, Aizan.

Coach Aizan,

I believe I speak on behalf of all Coaches. Thank you for accepting us as part of your team. Thank you for sharing your dream with us.

The work and sacrifice that you have put in… can’t be put in words. You now lead a family of more than 1,000 Coaches and Champions. Not many can lead a team of dedicated volunteers, which can be called-up anytime, anywhere to serve the community. Only a few can lead a team of volunteers whom are always excited to be called to serve the community.

There’s a lot that we have learnt from you. Through Projek Tekad, I have found great friends and wonderful mentors. The experience is like no other. Thank you Mentor Aizan!!

Your nomination being accepted by the Awards committee, and to this stage being short-listed as 5 finalists is already an achievement. It is already a great recognition towards the work that you have done and towards the Tekad Family. It has indeed brought more TEKAD in our souls to continue this noble work. Our champions have greater motivation. They aspire to be Coaches. They aspire to be Coach Aizan!

I look forward to working with you in the Tekad Follow-Up Program.

Coach Aizan, I SALUTE YOU!!!

Good Luck for Tonight. We shall be waiting for you at the venue.

Tekad Dipahat, Wawasan Dijulang, Kejayaan Digenggam

Dungga!!
Jai
